CFH-BFD-F. Wilburt Stevens MALTBY, b. Nov. 3, 1866 (Epaphrus C.6, Julius 5, Benj.4, Dan.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). m. May 12, 1897, Sophie Louise MALTBY, dau. of Charles Robinson MALTBY, of Corning, N.Y. and great grand-dau. of Curtis W. MALTBY, son of Erastus MALTBY who was a native of Caanan, Ct. Mr. MALTBY was Secretary of C.R. MALTBY Co., Coffees and Teas, 91 Wall Street, N.Y., with residence at 1208 Putnam Ave., Plainfield, N.J. He attended the MALTBY Family Reunion at Branford, Conn., and provided lapel pins of red on which, in gold, were the MALTBY coat-at-arms. In his youth he was a champion bicycle rider. I recall as a child, my father taking us to the old Hamilton Park, on Whalley Ave., New Haven, to see him ride. Mounted on one of the then, fabulously tall front wheel, with a small one in the rear, he performed marvelous exhibits of "trick" riding. Many years (please turn to p. 732 for page 482a the continuation from here) later I was to meet him personally. He was a member of the MALTBY Association and his picture is shown in the 2nd from back, row, in the Reunion photograph, on p. 403, "MALTBY-MALTBIE Family History."
